Suitability of items

Only the advertising of equipment or services that Vintagetech regard as appropriate will be accepted; any advertisement with links to another web site or having a direct email address, or telephone number will automatically be excluded, unless the inclusion of these links and/or details have been specifically agreed with Vintagetech as being of benefit to users of the site, for example an advertisement for services or events.

Content

You agree to be entirely honest with all content posted or transmitted via this website for example the descriptions of items in listing. You agree to take sole responsibility for all the content that you upload, email or otherwise and any consequence of this content. Images included in advertisements shall be of the actual equipment being offered, you shall not use photographs which are the copyright property of others, such as those from product brochures or copied from elsewhere. Vintagetech accepts no responsibility and will not be liable in any way for copyright infringement,any actions or costs of any kind resulting from infringement will be the responsibility of you.

Whilst Vintagetech will make every endeavour to ensure site content does not break any laws, infringe copyright, or cause offence, Vintagetech do not accept any liability for the monitoring of the site. As a user you understand that Vintagetech does not control, and is not responsible for content and that by using the website, you may at times be exposed to content that is indecent, inaccurate, misleading, or otherwise objectionable. You agree that you must evaluate, and bear all risks associated with the use of any content. Vintagetech will not be liable in any way for for any loss or damage of any kind as a result of the use of any content on this site.

Cancellation

You acknowledge that Vintagetech does not pre-screen users or approve content; Vintagetech will have the right in our sole discretion to cancel an advertisement and/or user registration, delete or modify any content considered inappropriate or that violates these terms and conditions or for any other reason

User identity

This website has been designed so that you and other users identities are protected as far as is practical; given that the purpose of the site is to facilitate communication there will be occasions when this is not achievable. On these occasions and in any instance, once a buyer or seller has chosen to open a dialogue with another user, then Vintagetech renounce any and all liability.

Any sale, purchase or other action resulting either directly or indirectly from this site are private between users.

Fraud

Vintagetech will make every endeavour to ensure users of this site are protected from fraud or scams, by using this site you agree to make Vintagetech aware at the earliest possible time of any fraud or scam you become aware of. Vintagetech reserve the right to shut down the site without notice if it is deemed appropriate to protect users, users identities or the integrity of the site. By using this site you agree to read the scam and fraud warnings below and any additional notices that may be placed from time to time.

Fees

Some advertising on Vintagetech is free, some advertising will incur a charge. If placing an advertisement incurs a fee, you accept that the fee is non refundable, even if you decide to delete your advertisement or Vintagetech removes the advertisement because the content is deemed inappropriate or for any other reason. The fee will be payable in full when the advertisement is placed.

We will from time to time change our fee structure.

Basic Conditions

As a condition of using Vintagetech you agree that you will not:

• Break any laws
• Threaten or be abusive to other users
• Introduce defamatory, obscene or indecent material
• Infringe any third-party right
• Introduce or distribute any content that is or may include viruses, or forms any part of a spam, chain letter, or pyramid scheme that may harm Vintagetech or its users
• For any reason copy or distribute any part of another users advertisement, or any other part of the site
• Use any device, automated or otherwise to access Vintagetech and harvest and or collect content.
• Attempt to or bypass devices and measures used to prevent or restrict access to Vintagetech and its users.
• Include content that infringes the rights of third parties.

Our Liability

Vintagetech will make every endeavour to ensure that the content of this site meets the terms and conditions. However we cannot guarantee the accuracy of advertisements or any subsequent user communications, or the content, quality, safety, or legality of items offered for sale. In using this site you agree not to hold us responsible for the actions of others. In any event Vintagetech accept no liability whatsoever for any loss, damage, or injury caused either directly or indirectly as the result items being purchased as the result of advertising on this site.

Furthermore we do not accept liability for any content which is unlawful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene or indecent, or content which violates or infringes the rights of another person

While we will use every endeavour to offer an uninterrupted, error free, secure service, this is not guaranteed, promised or warranted. Nor can we guarantee that any defect in the service will be corrected in a given time frame or at all

Personal Information

In using this site, you agree to the acquisition, storage and use of your personal information by Vintagetech.

General

These terms and conditions together with others details within the site constitute an agreement between Vintagetech and you. This agreement shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales.
We reserve the right to modify or update this agreement at any time, any such changes will have immediate effect.

Fraud and scams, things to look out for:

Only respond to emails that show a specific interest in the item you are selling or looking to purchase, generic emails that have no specific reference to your advertisement, or a few words, should be regarded as suspect; do not respond, even to say you are not interested, its your email address they want and once you respond they will have it.
Do not agree to pay any money up front for anything until you are absolutely sure that the seller is genuine. As ever the best approach is to collect the item and pay the seller once you have assured yourself the item is as you expect.

If you cant meet the seller, but still want the item, then initially suggest you will meet, the seller may well drop out if he/she thinks the scam will not work.

Never accept more money than you are asking or agreed price; a now common scam, involves the buyer asking you to ‘refund’ the additional money, or send it elsewhere, this may seem legitimate, however, the original payment would have been fraudulent in some way and will at some point be reclaimed from you by the defrauded bank, leaving you out of pocket as you will not easily be able to recover the ‘refund’.

Vintagetech will not generally permit email addresses to be included in advertisements, this is specifically to avoid ‘spammers‘ easily getting hold of addresses and thus greatly reduces the chances of receiving unsolicited ‘spam‘ email. If you do include your email address in an advertisement, please be aware you will almost certainly receive mail you could do without.

Safety of Electronic Equipment

Much of the equipment sold on this site is old and would not meet current electrical and other regulations; older equipment was often not electrically earthed, and even if safe when new may have deteriorated over the years. Furthermore, some equipment, particularly valve equipment use very high internal voltages which are potentially lethal. Users of the site should be aware of these issues and not under any circumstances use or operate the old equipment unless they are suitably qualified to do so, or have the equipment checked by at suitably qualified person.
